June 25, 2011 I had the honor of capturing Shane and Veronica’s wedding day. I have an affinity to people that share my name, and also towards lefties (being one myself) so I’m thinking Shane is a helluva cool guy, and a very lucky one to have married Veronica, the love of his life. My daughter joined me as my second shooter, and did a stellar job in her own right.

The day shooting their wedding was a hot one, but somehow the heat didn’t phase me, or any of the guests, well, maybe a couple were a little affected, but it was a most enjoyable afternoon and evening.

When I got home, I found a couple of note cards in my pocket, and saw that it was addressed to Shane. At first I thought it was me, but could not remember who would have slipped me a note that day. I read on, and realized, these words were familiar. Anyway, here are some images of the day, starting with her note.

Monrovia Old Town Barber Shop Pin-up Calendar Shoot

Finally, after months of preparation, recruiting models, and make-up artists, the Barber Shop Calendar Shoot is just about finished. Once again I teamed up with Livi, who is always a blast to work with. Don was there too, who took care of the behind the scenes video work for us. Our make up artist, and hair stylist was Julie Wood, who also brought the only model to show up for the gig, so a big hats off goes to her for literally saving the day. Ashley, our gracious and beautiful model was an absolute dream to work with.

All that is left is weeding down the dozens of photos to be included in the calendar. Fortunately, we are not restricted to just 12 images here, so sit back, relax, and enjoy! You can also view some full color images in the slideshow at the bottom of this post, or in the gallery.

Carpinteria is Picturesque for Justin and Alma’s Wedding

Justin and Alma were married on June 26, 2010 in Carpinteria California, and what a blast it was to be there to photograph it. They were a free spirited and fun loving couple, with large and gracious hearts.

They were so much fun and easygoing to photograph, my shutter finger was sore days later…not really, but I did shoot a lot, not just a lot, but a whole great big bunch. I came away with so many great photos, I was able to cut loose a bit and add some real artistic flare to some of these shots.

Happy 4th of July From SWLund Photography

Normally, you would see a picture of fireworks, or an American Flag, or some other patriotic imagery. Unfortunately, I do not have any of those captured. Instead, I am offering up another sneak peak, chocked full of Americana. The red, white and blue are well represented…and if you look closely, you can spot Uncle Sam holding a flag.

In case you are wondering, that’s me in the barber chair, the model is Ashley. This image was taken by my good friend Livi. We often partner up for personal projects such as this, as well as wedding photography.

Monrovia, CA Barber Shop Calendar Pin-up – Teaser

The Barbershop Calendar Pin-up shoot has been a personal project of mine for a few months now, and turned out to be a rocking success. Here is a small taste of what’s to come…

Monrovia Old Town Barber Shop

The challenge with any environmental portrait work is lighting, when done in a room full of mirrors it can get really tricky, but that’s where the fun begins. Even though this is a teaser, I must shout out to Livi, who assisted me in getting everything set up and just right, Julie Wood did the hair and makeup, without whom the shoot would not have been possible, because she also brought Ashley, the only model to show up to the gig.

I almost forgot Don, who took some great behind the scenes video, and is frantically producing a short feature to be aired here on this site…you definitely want to stay tuned for that!
